Hawaiʻi Island Police are renewing their request for information about a reported attempted car theft in Hilo on October 8, 2015.

Patrol officers responding to a 9:35 p.m. call met with a 20-year-old Volcano man in a parking lot at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. He reported that as he approached his parked sports-utility vehicle, he encountered a male suspect inside, who apparently was attempting to steal it.
