A widespread destructive tsunami threat does not exist based on historical earthquake and tsunami data. Earthquakes of this size do not usually produce destructive tsunamis. However, small sea level changes may be observed in the vicinity of the epicenter.

A TSUNAMI WARNING is issued for the state of Hawaii. This upgrade is due to the sea level readings received and the resulting change in the hawaii tsunami forecast. The estimated arrival time of the first tsunami wave is 10:28 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012.
