A 24-year-old Kailua-Kona woman and a 26-year-old California man were arrested for drug offenses Monday (April 12).

Following a traffic stop at 10 a.m. on Route 190 near the Waikoloa junction, investigators from the Area II Vice Section served a search warrant on the sedan the pair occupied. Police recovered 11 grams of crystal methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe containing marijuana.

Justin Smith’s 24 points in 28 minutes of play led the University of Hawaii at Hilo to a 66-51 win over Notre Dame de Namur University in Pacific West Conference play in Belmont, Calif.

The Vulcans are 8-4 overall and 2-0 in the PacWest while the Argonauts are 2-10 overall and 0-1 in the PacWest.
