An autopsy conducted Tuesday (July 21) determined that a man who died Saturday (July 18) after being involved in a one-vehicle traffic collision on Kanoelehua Avenue in Hilo died from a medical condition. He has been identified as 61-year-old Thomas Pokorski of Covina, California.

Hawaiʻi County police have identified the body of a 31-year-old California man who was reported missing. Yogi Yoswara was last seen in Hilo at 9 p.m. on December 19. He is described as 5-foot-7, 140 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.

Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 23-year-old man who disappeared in 2007 while visiting from the mainland. Sean Ryan of California was last seen at a friend’s home in the Fern Acres subdivision in upper Puna on August 12, 2007.

The Big Island Visitors Bureau added a little more aloha to Hilo last night, and welcomed the Cohen family of Los Angeles, who flew in on the new nonstop flight between Los Angeles and Hilo on United Airlines.

A California man has died from injuries sustained when he fell off his bicycle. On July 14, Kona patrol officers responded to a 1:18 a.m. report of a crashing sound on the 75-6100 block of Alii Drive and found a man lying next to a bicycle.
