Hawaii Island HELCO customers asked to conserve power Sunday night (Feb 10)

Hawai‘i Electric Light is asking Hawai‘i Island customers to conserve electricity use this evening. Crews are working to restore transmission lines that supply power from independent power producers Hamakua Energy Partners and Hawi Renewable Development to the electric grid.

Power plants in Hilo and Kona trip offline plunging 28K customers into darkness Thursday night

HELCO reports power outages due to the earthquakes on Hawaii Island

At around 12:30 p.m. Friday (May 4) about 14,000 customers in Hilo, Kaumana, and pockets in Puna lost power due to the strong earthquake. Currently, about half of the customers have been restored and about 6,300 remain without power. Hawaii Electric Light Company crews are working to restore power.

Power outages hit Kailua-Kona Saturday (Dec 3)

Saturday morning (Dec 3) Hawaii Electric Light Company (HELCO) reported about 320 customers without power from the Kailua-Kona industrial area to the Crossroads Center along with 1,450 customers without power from Kaiwi Road to Lunapule Road.

HELCO restores power to customers in Paauilo-Mauka, warns customers about phone scams

Hawai‘i Electric Light has restored electric service to the remaining 20 customers in Paauilo-Mauka who were affected by high winds from Tropical Storm Madeline. Crews have been working since Wednesday to repair damage to utility poles and power lines caused primarily by fallen trees and branches.
