Zavi Brees-Saunders has been named Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island. The CPO serves as the executive in charge of the six-unit BGCBI program. Brees-Saunders has nearly 10 years’ experience in non-profit management. She was raised in rural Hana, Maui, holds a masters’ degree in public health, worked in the Balkans and in Albania for the American Red Cross, and most recently, for Family Support Hawaii, for which she had oversight of island-wide programs.

Kathleen Christopher is the new resource development director. Christopher has worked with The Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island (BGCBI) for two and a half years. Jay Ihara is interim director of operations. Ihara will oversee Club operations and programs and will sit on the program development and property management committee.
