The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for West Hawaii forcing the closure of two Kona beaches. The beaches at Laaloa Beach Park (aka. Magic Sands, White Sands) and Kahaluu Beach Park are closed but the rest of each beach park remains open.

Surf is forecast to be in the 6-8 foot range in Kona and the advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday (April 1).
