The Mamalahoa bypass will be open 12 hours a day, seven days a week beginning Monday (June 7), under a new easement agreement between the County of Hawaii and 1250 Oceanside Partners, developer of Hokuli`a. The bypass will open to traffic in both directions from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

A car accident Tuesday evening closed a short portion of Alii Drive. Traffic was diverted to Waulua Road opposite the Royal Kona Resort and onto Kahakai Road just south of the resort. Alii Drive was reopened to traffic about 7:20 p.m. after the car was removed. Police at the scene declined to provide further details.
