Police are searching for an Alaska man reported missing, last reported to be in Puna

Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 22-year-old Alaska man who was reported missing. Boaz D. Johnson of Petersburg, Alaska, last spoke to his family at noon Monday (May 27). He was reportedly in Puna. He is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-6 or 5-foot-7, 145 pounds with short brown hair and blue eyes.

No destructive widespread tsunami threat exists. The West Coast/Alaska Tsunami Warning Center has cancelled the regional warning for coasts located near the earthquake.
