Abandoned vehicle auction being held in May 2018

All prospective bidders are encouraged to view the vehicles prior to bidding. In no case will failure to view constitute grounds for the withdrawal of a bid. All prospective bidders must sign in at the designated sign-in table. Vehicles available for auction will be clearly labeled with an item number.

Hawaiʻi Island police are asking the public for help in identifying individuals or businesses who are responsible for the dumping of abandoned and derelict vehicles.

Since January 1, approximately 280 abandoned or derelict vehicles have been reported in the Kona District alone, compared with 106 reported during the same period in 2015.
