Kona Outdoor Circle’s “Growing in a Winter Garden”

with Bonnie Perata from Kona Earthly Delights Farms.

One of the benefits of being a plant lover in Hawaii is the ability to garden year round. Though the changes in the season are modest, cooler, dryer and shorter days do affect what grows optimally in Kona’s winter.

Bonnie Perata applies multiple organic and sustainable techniques to a multitude of bountiful gardens on her farm. She exemplifies and explains preparation for successful winter gardening including choosing the right plant for the right place, appropriate and effective soil building, and holistic plant health maintenance.

Series price – $125 members (membership – $35); Individual classes  – $30 members / $45 non members
