Structure fire destroys vacant home in Hilo

Firefighters responded to a 8:15 p.m. alarm Thursday (Dec 14) to 100 Kulaniapia Drive in Hilo for a structure fire.

Firefighters arrived to find a 20-by-40 foot single story post and pier based home engulfed in flames. Crews had the fire under control by 9:07 p.m. and it was reported to be out at 9:15 p.m.

The home was vacant and was destroyed in the fire. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
