The Hawaii Police Department reports that Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) near the 85 mile marker in South Kona is now open. It was previously closed due to a traffic accident.

The Hawai’i Police Department reports a complete road closure of Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) near the 85 mile Marker in South Kona due to a traffic accident, the Mac but farm road is temporarily being used as a bypss road. Expect delays.. Motorists are asked to take alternate routes and avoid this location. Expected road closure is until about 10 a.m.

Road Closure on Napoopoo Road

5:59 a.m.
The Hawai’i Police Department reports the closure of Napoopoo Road near Kahau Place in South Kona, due to a down utility pole as a result of a traffic accident. This location is about a quarter mile below the Coffee Museum. Motorists wanting to get to Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) or Kealakekua Bay is advised to take Keala O Keawe Road as an alternate route. HELCO crews are responding and the expected closure is at least until noon.
