The county Department of Parks and Recreation and County Councilwoman Valerie Poindexter invite the public to a Honomu Community Association meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Honomu Gymnasium.

Poindexter will be joined by Springer Kaye of the Big Island Invasive Species Committee, along with the area’s community policing officer, Jayme Carvalho, Hamakua district supervisor for the Department of Parks and Recreation, and Rod Cambra, Honomu gym director.

Topics of conversation will include recent improvements to the gym and park, invasive species, and community concerns.
