Hawaii County Civil Defense message regarding a Puna Geothermal Venture test slated for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday (April 17).

The Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV) plant be conducting a test of the emergency warning systems to include the sounding of the drill rig warning siren Wednesday (April 27) at about 11:30 a.m. This is only a test that is necessary to ensure the proper working order and function of their warning system. Residents in the immediate area and Community of Leilani Estates, Nanawale Estates and the upper Kapoho and Pohoiki areas may hear the sirens.
