Police located a Kona man wanted in connection with a stolen pickup truck

Hawaiʻi Island police have located 22-year-old Kainoa Lindo of Hoʻokena, who was wanted for questioning in connection with a stolen pickup truck.

Lindo was arrested at 9:30 a.m. Monday (March 14) in Captain Cook on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. He is being held at the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section continue the investigation.

The truck was stolen January 29 from the parking lot of an apartment complex on Aliʻi Drive. Police recovered it in Hoʻokena on March 8.

Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 22-year-old Kona man wanted for questioning in connection with a stolen pickup truck.

The truck was stolen January 29 from the parking lot of an apartment complex on Aliʻi Drive. Police recovered the truck in Hoʻokena on Tuesday (March 8).

Police want to question Kainoa Lindo, whose last known address was in Hoʻokena. He is described as 5-foot-9, 175-190 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Detective Walter Ah Mow at 326-4646, extension 238, or walter.ahmow@hawaiicounty.gov.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
