Police ID remains found in Wailuku River as missing swimmer from September 2015

MEDIA RELEASE

Hawaiʻi Island police have identified remains found last month in the Wailuku River as those of a woman who was last seen swimming near that area last year.

The remains were found in a tide pool of the Wailuku River on February 14.

Dental comparison determined that the remains were those of 62-year-old Jolee Reiswig of Kailua-Kona. Reiswig was last seen in Hilo in the early evening hours on September 14, 2015. She had been swimming with a companion in a location known as Boiling Pots.
