Road closures for Manono, Kaumana

ROAD CLOSURE ON MANONO ST. (BETWEEN KEKUANAOA ST. AND EAST LANIKAULA ST.) AND LEILANI ST. (BETWEEN MILILANI ST. AND HINANO ST.)

The sounty Department of Public Works and its contractor Loeffler Construction announces that effective 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, 2016 through Thursday, March 24, 2016, Manono Street (between Kekuanaoa Street and East Lanikaula Street) and Leilani Street (between Mililani Street and Hinano Street) will be closed­ (24-hour closure) for grading and pavement work.

Only local residents will be allowed access.

The estimated time frame for the phases of road work is as follows (weather and construction conditions permitting):

1. 2/29/16 – 3/9/16 Manono Street (from Lanikaula Street to Leilani Street)

2. 3/10/16 – 3/18/16 Manono Street (from Leilani Street to Kekuanaoa Street)

* Possibility of one lane opening for two way traffic during this phase

3. 3/21/16 – 3/22/16 Leilani Street (from Manono Street to Hinano Street)

4. 3/23/16 – 3/24/16 Leilani Street (from Mililani Street to Manono Street)

This closure is necessary to complete the road work in a timely manner and for the safety of the traveling public.

Special off-duty police officers will be posted in the area to facilitate traffic movement.

Motorists will be able to use Mililani Street and Hinano Street as alternate routes.

The Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks the community for their patience and understanding.

KAUMANA DRIVE, LELE STREET, WAIANUENUE AVENUE

The Department of Public Works Traffic Division will be working on the traffic signals at the Kaumana Drive, Lele Street and Waianuenue Avenue intersection, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, weather conditions permitting.

The upgrade involves installing wireless vehicle detection sensors in the roadway on all four approaches and programing the traffic signals to optimize traffic flow.

The intersection will remain open and the Traffic Division will work on one approach at a time with Special off-duty police officers supporting them in directing motorists around the lane they are working in.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

The Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks the community for their patience and understanding.
