HILO, Feb. 18, 2016 – Hawai‘i Electric Light announces the completion of construction work along Highway 19 between the 24-mile marker in Pāpa‘aloa and the 27-mile marker in Laupāhoehoe on the Hāmākua Coast.

Hawai‘i Electric Light thanks the community for their patience and cooperation during the construction period.

The project improves system reliability by upgrading utility infrastructure and was completed one week ahead of schedule. It involved removing and installing poles and upgrading transmission and distribution lines and equipment.
