Police are searching for a Kapaau man wanted for assault and probation violation

Hawaiʻi Island police have located a 34-year-old North Kohala man who was wanted for assault and violating probation.

Owen K. Ching of Kapaʻau was arrested Wednesday (May 4) in Kapaʻau and charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree assault and probation violation. His bail was set at $50,000.

Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 34-year-old North Kohala man wanted for assault and violating probation.

Owen K. Ching of Kapaʻau is described as 5-foot-6, 190 pounds with brown eyes and a shaved head.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers doesn’t record calls or subscribe to caller ID.
