Fire burns Hilo Domino’s Pizza store Tuesday (Feb 16)

Fire/rescue responded to a 6:53 a.m. alarm Tuesday (Feb 16) to Domino’s Pizza on Kilauea Avenue in Hilo for a structure fire.

Crews arrived to find smoke coming out of the roof vent. Firefighters broke through a back door and found a fire in the storeroom area of the shop. The fire was put out by 7:15 a.m. and crews used fans to remove the smoke.

There was no damage to other shops in the complex. The loss in the fire was estimated to be $160,000.

Fire inspectors and police are working to determine the cause of the fire.
