A Kona man has been charged with three offenses in connection with a confrontation at a construction site last month in Kailua-Kona.

In response to a 9:07 a.m. call on November 2 to a construction site on the 72-3100 block of Makani Eka Place, it was reported to Kona Patrol officers that a worker identified as 23-year-old Cody Lewis Allen of Kailua-Kona had gotten into an altercation with another worker at the site. During the confrontation, Allen reportedly fired an air-powered nail gun in the direction of a 59-year-old man, also putting other construction workers in danger. He then reportedly threatened the 59-year-old man with a post, threatened a 34-year-old man with a collapsible baton and slashed the tires of a company truck before driving away from the scene.

After an investigation by detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section, Allen was arrested Tuesday (December 9) and charged with terroristic threatening, reckless endangering and criminal property damage. His bail was set at $4,250.

He was held at the Kona police cellblock until his initial court appearance on Wednesday (December 9).
