The Hawaiʻi Police Department’s Hawaiʻi Isle Police Activities League will hold its 34th annual “Winter Basketball Classic†tournament, in collaboration with the County of Hawaiʻi Department of Parks & Recreation, from Saturday, December 26, to Tuesday, December 29, in Hilo.
Entries are being accepted for the following age groups to be played at the following locations:
- 7-8 at the Edith Kanakaʻole Multi-Purpose Stadium
- Boys 9-10 and Girls 10 under at the Edith Kanakaʻole Multi-Purpose Stadium
- Boys 11-12 and Girls 12 under at the Hilo Armory
- Boys 13-14 and Girls 14 under at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium
The age cutoff date is December 31, 2015.
All championship games will be played at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium on Tuesday, December 29.
Registration for age group 8-and-under teams is $60/team. Registration for teams 9 and above is $80/team. To help attract outer-island teams, a reduced rate of $25 per team is being offered to visiting squads.
Deadline for team entry is Friday, November 27. Each team is required to complete and submit a registration packet before the deadline. Registration forms may be picked up at all police station and also may be found on the County of Hawaiʻi Department of Parks and Recreation website. Registration packets can be mailed to or dropped off at:
