7:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug 22) Hawaii County Civil Defense Tropical Depression Kilo update

As of 5 p.m. Saturday (Aug 22) Tropical Depression Kilo was located about 460 miles (740 km) south-southwest of Honolulu. Kilo has maximum sustained winds of about 35 mph (55 km/hr) with higher gusts.

Kilo is moving west-northwest at 15 mph (24 km/hr). Kilo is forecast to gradually strengthen over the next few days. Kilo is a disorganized weather system and the environment appears conducive for it strengthen.

Currently no watches or warnings are in effect and the Civil Defense Agency will be monitoring the system and maintaining close communications with the National Weather Service. Please monitor your local radio broadcasts and this website for updates.
