Tropical Storm Hilda headed west, forecast to become a hurricane by Friday (Aug 7)

Position of Tropical Storm Hilda provided by CPHC

As of 11 p.m. HST Thursday (Aug 6) Tropical Hilda was centered about 1,380 miles east-southeast of Hilo moving west at 13 mph.

Hilda has maximum sustained winds of 60 mph and is forecast to strengthen and become a hurricane by Friday (Aug 7).
