Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman suspected of an auto theft in Hilo last Thursday (July 30).

A photo taken this Tuesday (August 4) shows the woman operating a pickup truck that was stolen on July 30. The August 4 photo was taken shortly after another vehicle theft was committed near the Bayfront area.

Police ask anyone with information about the July 30 incident to call Officer Jared Cabatu at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

They ask anyone with information about the August 4 incident to call Officer Chester Franco at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300. Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.

Anyone who recognizes the woman in the photo is asked to call any of the above phone numbers.

    That is a 1985 Nissan pick up she is driving and it was stolen from KTA Puainako parking lot July 30. Was yellow, now they painted white. Please, if anyone has information call the number given. It is my truck and I need it back.
