Power outage hits Hilo, HELCO responding and restoring services

Hawaii Electric Light Company reported that at 10:20 a.m. Monday (July 13) about 1,420 customers were without power from Wainaku to Puueo Paku. HELCO has crews responding to the outage area and as of 10:40 a.m. has reported that about 1,065 customers have had their power restored.

About 355 HELCO customers remain without power as crews continue to work on restoration.

UPDATE

As of 11:20 a.m. all customers have their power restored in the affected area.
