Big Island lane closures for the week of June 13-19, 2015

— HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) VICINITY OF PEPEEKEO TO HAKALAU

Alternating single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between Kulaimano Road and Kauniho Road in the vicinity of Pepeekeo to Hakalau on Monday, June 15, through Friday, June 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for roadway improvements.

2) VICINITY OF LAUPAHOEHOE GULCH (WEEKEND WORK)

Alternating single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between Jardine Road and Puualaea Homestead Road in the vicinity of Laupahoehoe Gulch on Saturday, June 13, and Monday, June 15, through Friday, June 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for roadway improvements.

3) VICINITY OF UMAUMA BRIDGE

Alternating lane closures on Umauma Bridge in the vicinity of Hakalau (Route 19, Milepost 16) in both directions over a twenty-four hour period, seven days a week for bridge rehabilitation. Travel speed on Umauma Bridge is reduced to 20-mph, and vehicles that exceed statutory size-weight limits will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis upon application of their respective oversize-overweight vehicle permits. Maximum width for any vehicle with permit passing over the bridge is 12 feet.

4) VICINITY OF KAAWALII GULCH (WEEKEND WORK)

Alternating single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between Jardine Road and Old Mamalahoa Highway in the vicinity of Kaawalii Gulch on Saturday, June 13, and Monday, June 15, through Friday, June 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for roadway improvements.

Kaumana Drive Road Resurfacing

Beginning June 18 until July 17, road resurfacing of 2.5 miles of Kaumana Drive starting approximately from Ainako Avenue/Mohouli Street to Akolea Road is scheduled by the Highway Maintenance Division. Work is scheduled between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Alternate lane closures will be in effect between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.. Plan on delays.

Roadwork is weather permitting. No roadwork will occur on weekends or holidays.
