Hawaii Horse Expo presents wellness symposium

Hawaii Horse Expo will present its first Equine Wellness Symposium on Sept. 11–13, 2015 at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows.

Informative topics will focus over two days on studying the prevention, identification and treatment of diseases, infections and wounds encountered by horse owners and veterinarians.

Symposium speakers include –

* Leslie Easterwood DVM, Clinical Assistant Professor, Texas A & M University

* Robert Miller DVM, Internationally Renowned Behaviorist

* Eric Mueller, DVM, PhD, Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons and Director of Equine Programs, University of Georgia

* Susan L. White DVM, Diplomate ACVIM

* Josiah Meigs Distinguished Professor, Emeritus, University of Georgia

* Lisa Wood DVM, Partner, Veterinary Associates, Kamuela, Hawaii

Moderated by Rick Lamb, PhD, Host of The Horse Show

Symposium workshops will take place at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows on Sept. 11 and 12.

The three-day event wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 13, with a paniolo-style BBQ featuring country western music and a silent auction at the Paniolo Preservation Society in Kamuela, Hawaii.

Proceeds from Hawaii Horse Expo benefit the Humane Society’s Horse Rescue Fund, which helps abused and abandoned horses on the island. Hawaii Horse Expo has garnered considerable attention for attracting world-renowned equine experts who travel from across the mainland U.S. to share their knowledge and skills.

Registration for the 2015 Equine Wellness Symposium will soon be available online at HawaiiHorseExpo.com. Cost for two days of Symposium workshops is $265 per person including lunch at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows. Cost for the Paniolo BBQ will be announced soon.
