2nd Annual Kailua Kanikapila Community Picnic (April 18)

Residents, visitors and families of all ages are invited to attend the 2nd annual free Kailua Kanikapila Community Picnic featuring Hawaiian music melodies of Darlene Ahuna and Kanakapila.

Celebrate community by the shore at the Hale Halawai County Pavilion oceanfront lawn from 4 p.m. until sunset Saturday, April 18.

Bring lawn chairs, beach mats and picnic favorites or for those who prefer to purchase food, Estrada’s Surf n Turf, Big Island Kettle Corn, JJ’s Mini Orbits Donuts and Scandinavian Shave Ice will be on-sit there too.

This year’s Kailua Kanikapila will feature the sounds of Hilo’s Darlene Ahuna, a multiple Na Hoku Hanohano award winner including Female Vocalist of the Year.

Her powerful renditions of Hawaiian songs and hula classics will drift through the casual picnic setting the mood for another great community picnic.

Ben Kaili and J.J. Ahuna of Kanakapila are traditional Hawaiian music vocalists with a playlist that will entertain picnic goers as the sun sets over Kailua Bay.

The 2nd Annual Kailua Kanikapila Community Picnic event is sponsored by the Kailua Village Business Improvement District, Hawaii Tourism Authority, and the County of Hawaii.
