Kulani Correctional Facility visits have been cancelled due to the current lockdown and on-going investigation into Friday’s inmate disturbance at the facility.

All scheduled Saturday visitors can reschedule for Sunday.

At approximately 6:50 p.m. on Friday (3/6/15) an inmate at the Kulani Correctional Facility refused to go into his dorm. Staff were able to peacefully end the situation fast. A lockdown and investigation was initiated.

All other state prison facilities are currently scheduled to hold their regular weekend visits.

The Department of Public Safety (PSD) has been putting out visitation cancellation notices through social media in an effort to get the word out faster to people who are planning to come to the facility to visit a loved one. Watch for these posts between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on the scheduled visitation day.
