Hale Nani inmate fails to check-in during furlough

Extended furlough inmate Jason Cantan failed to report for his scheduled check-in Wednesday evening (Feb 18) at the Hale Nani Reintegration Center. State Sheriffs and Hawaii County Police were notified.

Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside of the facility but must check in at various times each week.

Cantan was serving time for Identity Theft 2 and Promoting Prison Contraband. His next parole hearing is scheduled for April of this year.

Cantan 37 years old. He is 6’2″ and weighs 230 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Hale Nani is located in the Panaewa. The center offers offenders reintegration services and a work release program for sentenced inmates who will be released on the island of Hawaii.
