MEDIA RELEASE

North Hawaii Community Hospital announces Gary Goldberg, M.D., as the hospital’s first Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in the organization’s nearly 19‐year history.

“Dr. Goldberg brings several strong attributes to the role of CMO, including his long tenure at NHCH, his keen awareness of hospital processes, and his constructive approach to communications,” said Ken Graham, NHCH President.

As Chief Medical Officer, Goldberg’s responsibilities include strategic and medical operational leadership, overseeing the advancement of clinical quality of patient care, and serving as the primary representative of physicians in clinical practice as they interact with the hospital administration and the medical staff.

“I am excited to join NHCH’s senior management team at this important time in the hospital’s history,” Goldberg said.

Goldberg has been an Emergency Medicine Physician for more than 25 years and currently serves as a member of the Hawaii Emergency Physicians Associated (HEPA) group, which staffs the NHCH Emergency Department.

He has provided Emergency Medicine services at NHCH since 2000 and has served as the NHCH Emergency Medicine Physician Director since 2005.

Goldberg received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Miami Medical School in Miami, Florida.

He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
