Volcano Awareness Month: Poland at UH-Hilo (Jan. 7)

On Wednesday, Jan. 7, USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) scientist Mike Poland reports on the current status of Mauna Loa and presents overviews of Kilauea Volcano’s ongoing eruptions, including an in-depth account of the active lava flow near Pāhoa.

His talk begins at 7 p.m. in the University Classroom Building, Room 100, at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, 200 W. Kawili St., in Hilo. Free and open to the public.

Details, including a map of the UHH campus, are posted on the HVO website – hvo.wr.usgs.gov.

This presentation is one of many offered during Hawaii Island’s 6th annual Volcano Awareness Month in January.
