PTA to allow bird hunting this weekend (November 29-30)

Army officials are opening several training areas for bird hunting, here, Nov. 29-30, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Training areas 9-16 and the Keamuku Training Area will be open for shotgun hunting of birds only. Use of shotgun slugs is not permitted.

Missing Big Island extended furlough inmate Coburn Kaimiola Jr. has been returned to HCCC. Coburn Kaimiola was arrested on a warrant by Hawaii Police on November 21. He was returned to HCCC yesterday. On July 11, 2013, Coburn Kaimiola left a Kona extended furlough house without authorization.

Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 27-year-old Kailua-Kona man who was reported missing. David Twigg-Smith was last seen by his family on October 10 in Kailua-Kona. He has a medical condition that requires medication. He is described as 5-foot-1, 185 pounds with curly brown hair and brown eyes. He may have a beard.
