Kailua Village Luau (Sept. 20)

The Kailua Village Business Improvement District is bringing the community back Hawaiian style to Historic Kailua Village with an oceanfront luau on the Kona Inn lawn.

Slated for Saturday, Sept. 20 from 6 p.m., the luau will feature onolicious food and great Hawaiian entertainment.

Enjoy ahi poke, pork lau lau, kalua pig and cabbage, lomi lomi salmon, huli huli chicken, grilled fresh catch, baked Molokai sweet potatoes, Waipio poi, fern shoot salad, potato mac salad and of course, white rice while listening to the great Hawaiian music sounds of Darlene Ahuna and the lovely hula performers from Na Kaholoku and Traditions Hawaii.

Yes, there will be desserts too—pineapple upside down cake, coconut haupia, chocolate macadamia nut pie, Chantilly cake, assorted beverages and a cash bar.

Hilo’s Darlene Ahuna is a multiple Na Hoku Hanohano award winner including Female Vocalist of the Year.

Individual tickets are priced at $35 with reserved tables of 10 at $400 and are available online at
