MEDIA RELEASE
Motorists traveling North to HÄmÄkua are using Hilo Bayfront Beach Park (also known as Bayfront Highway canoe area) to enter Bayfront Highway.
The detour around the Kamehameha Avenue and Pauahi Street intersection is open weekdays (no holidays or weekends) between the hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The speed limit will be 15 mph.
