Voter registration deadline July 10

The Office of Elections and County Clerks of Hawaii remind residents that the last day to register to vote in the primary election is Thursday, July 10, 2014.

Currently, the State of Hawaii has more than 700,000 registered voters.

To be eligible to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Hawaii and at least 18 years old. Hawaii law allows for 16 years of age to pre-register, but must be 18 years on Election Day to vote.

Registered voters that have changed their name or moved since the last election should re-register before the voter registration deadline.

Wikiwiki Voter Registration Forms are available at:

* U.S. Post Offices

* Public Libraries

* Office of Elections website:

* City/County Clerk’s Offices

* Most State Agencies

Completed voter registration forms must be turned in to the appropriate City/County Clerk by 4:30 p.m. or postmarked by July 10 if mailed.

The primary election is Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014.
