Governor releases $22.6M for airport construction projects

Gov. Neil Abercrombie has released more than $22.6 million for capital improvement projects (CIP) at seven airports to inject momentum into Hawaii’s construction industry, which is forecast to lead the state’s economic growth over the next two years.

“Since 2011, this administration has released nearly $1 billion for projects to improve Hawaii’s airports statewide,” Abercrombie said. “We continue to transform our airports into world-class facilities, while creating jobs to further employ a labor force that is at an all-time high in our state.”
