Sill no sign of missing Opihi picker off Puna coastline

Rescue crews spent another day searching the ocean and shoreline near Cape Kumukahi for an Opihi picker last seen Thursday (May 29).

Chopper One searched the shoreline area about one mile North and three miles South of the last known location of the missing Opihi picker. Rescue Boat Two conducted dive operations about 1.5 miles North and South of the last known location of the picker. Ground crews conducted shoreline searches in the area. No signs or evidence of the victim have been found.

The search has been suspended until daybreak Monday (June 2).
