HICCUP Circus at SPACE (June 2-13)

MEDIA RELEASE

The Seaview Performing Arts Center for Education (SPACE), located adjacent to the Kalapana Seaview Estates subdivision, is offering two youth circus camps based on skill level: beginners (June 9-13) and advanced (June 2-6).

Children learn juggling, unicycling, stilt walking, aerial, hoola-hooping, and other fun circus skills. Participation can increase a child’s self-esteem, confidence, and coordination.

Each camp runs 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Regular tuition is $250; resident and sibling discounts, as well as some partial scholarships, are available.

Register by email at info@hawaiispace.com or by calling SPACE at 965-8756.

Since 1984, the award-winning ‘HICCUPs’ have been a regular feature at many Big Island festivals and parades, performing for community events and benefits extending across the Hawaiian Islands to the west coast.

The mission of the HICCUP Circus is “to promote the healthy development of children and the community through the time honored skills of the circus.”

The circus offers educational services to the public-at-large, with emphasis on elementary and intermediate school age children and teens, especially in under-served isolated rural communities.
