Average gas prices in Hawaii rise 4.2 cents per gallon the past week

Average retail gasoline prices in Hawaii have risen 4.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $4.34/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 355 gas outlets in Hawaii. This compares with the national average that has increased 2.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.65/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Fire burns abandoned coffee shack in South Kona

Fire/rescue crews responded to a 1:16 p.m. alarm Friday (April 25) to Hokukano Ranch in South Kona for a structure fire. Crews arrived to find an abandonded coffee shack burning about a half-mile up the ranch road. Firefighters had the fire extingushed 10 minutes after arriving.
