SHYLI students to attend Oahu leadership conference


Big Island students are heading to Oahu this week to attend the 2014 forum for Sustainable Hawaii Youth Leadership Initiative.

The conference is Friday, April 4, at Windward Community College in Kaneohe.

Students from the Hawaii Island and Lanai will present their sustainability projects to a diverse audience of leaders from business, government and civic groups.

SHYLI, in partnership with Design Thinking Hawaii, will present the “Design Sustainable Hawaii Forum,” which offers a new strategy to build a green workforce.

Featured guests include Gov. Neil Abercrombie and Sen. Jill Tokuda, Design Thinking Facilitators Justin Brown and Amanda Nelson of Kealakehe High School.
