Fairmont Hawaii resorts strike gold in Conde Nast survey

MEDIA RELEASE

Conde Nast Traveler magazine has released its annual Gold List, naming Fairmont Hawaii resorts among the world’s best.

The Fairmont Orchid on the Island of Hawaii and The Fairmont Kea Lani on Maui were rated on criteria including location, activities, service and guestrooms.

Both Hawaii resorts scored more than 90 percent by Conde Nast readers and were both selected for the prestigious Platinum Circle, which recognizes consistency in excellence for properties who make the Gold List five years in a row.

The Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea, Maui earned high praise for its all-suite accommodations, authentic Hawaiian Cultural Program and exclusive 2- and 3-bedroom ocean front villas.

The award follows three years of substantial improvements to the resort, including the complete renovation of Ko restaurant in 2012 and the new, 9,000 square-foot Willow Stream Spa, which opened Dec. 23, 2013.

The Fairmont Orchid, a luxury resort located on the Kohala Coast of the Island of Hawaii, was recognized for its pristine location, outstanding service, unique Hui Holokai Beach Ambassador program, Hawaiian inspired Spa Without Walls and its Hawaii Island cuisine at the award winning Brown’s Beach House.

“We are thrilled to have The Fairmont Kea Lani and The Fairmont Orchid honored in the recognized Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List,” said Christof Luedi, Regional Vice President Hawaii and General Manager of The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii. “We take a great deal of pride in our luxurious oceanfront locations and service that epitomizes aloha.”

Conde Nast Traveler¹s annual Gold List identifies the gold standard of hotels, resorts, and cruise lines. Nearly 80,000 of the world’s most discerning travelers (a record-setting number) participated in the survey in 2013.

Travelers can now experience both award-winning Fairmont Hawaii Resorts with the Dual Island package, available throughout the year. When guests book a minimum of three nights in any one-bedroom suite at The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui and a minimum of three nights in any guestroom or suite at The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii, they will receive the seventh night free at either resort (subject to availability, blackout dates may apply).
