Starting Tuesday Dec. 10, one lane, one-way travel only in the southern direction (Puna bound) will be in effect 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, weather permitting.

Message boards will inform motorists of the traffic pattern.

The new traffic pattern will start from the Aupuni Street intersection and end at Wailoa/Waiakea Stream Bridge next to Hale Mailei condominium.

Normal traffic patterns will continue on Kilauea Avenue from Hale Mailei condominium.

The Aupuni Street intersection will be temporarily closed to motorists during the construction hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Street parking will be available to merchants within the construction zone during roadwork with the exception of Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Businesses will remain open during construction.

Normal traffic patterns will be restored after roadwork.
