Hawaii CC hosts Ohana Scholarship Night (Dec. 4)

Hawaii Community College hosts the “HawCC Ohana Scholarship Night” 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Manono Campus Cafeteria in Hilo.

The event is an opportunity for current students, prospective students and parents to learn about the scholarships and financial aid available to help pay Hawaii CC tuition starting in the fall of 2014.

“Scholarship Night will be a lot of fun, and it will be a great resource for those who want to offset the cost of attending Hawaii Community College,” said Jason Cifra, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. “Last year we awarded about $75,000 in scholarships, and coming to HawCC Ohana Scholarship Night is a great first step to securing some of those scholarship funds for fall 2014.”

Scholarship Night will feature games, food and a chance to win a $250 scholarship. Attendees can learn tips and strategies for preparing winning scholarship applications, and learn about the resources available to get help obtaining scholarships and financial aid.

Hawaii CC will also be hosting scholarship and financial aid workshops and tutoring sessions during the next three months to assist applicants.
