Optometrist, midwife join Kaiser Hilo clinic

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii has announced the addition of Kristina Dimova, OD, Optometry, and Bonny Hinz, CNM, Midwifery, to the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG), the state’s largest multi-specialty medical group, providing comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente Hawaii’s 227,000-plus members.

They will practice out of the Kaiser Permanente Hilo Clinic. Hinz will also practice out of the Kaiser Permanente Honolulu Medical Office on Oahu.

Dimova earned her Doctor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry and completed her optometry residency in primary eye care and ocular disease at Boston Veterans Administration Hospital, with clinical rotations at sites affiliated with Harvard Medical School.

Dimova most recently worked at private practices in Hilo and Kona.

Hinz earned her master’s degree in nurse-midwifery at Oregon Health & Science University.

A certified nurse midwife since 2005, Hinz has experience in obstetrics-gynecology and complete antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and general women’s health care.

Hinz is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
