Hawaii 24/7 Staff

A couple of metal containers that were being used as living quarters on Kopaa Street were razed in a Friday night fire.

At 11:34 p.m., fire crews were alerted to the fire at 11-1851 Kopaa St.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control shortly after midnight and had it extinguished by 12:30 a.m., preventing it from spreading to brush.

Wooden flooring was sandwiched between two 40-foot metal containers and the area used as living quarters.

No injuries were reported.

Damage is estimated at $120,000.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
