Lanihau Center celebrates 25 years (Sept. 14)

Kapa Radio and Hilton Waikoloa Village present Lanihau Center’s Birthday Bash and Concert on Saturday, Sept. 14 with activities throughout the day.

There will be a craft fair 2-9 p.m. in the parking lot near the Center’s Palani Road entrance. If you are interested in a booth space, contact Misti Manasas at allthingscreative808@yahoo.com or at 854-4469.

Keiki and adults will also get to participate in Sack n Save’s annual watermelon eating contest at 4 p.m. at the craft fair.

The evening concert kicks off at 4:45 p.m. in front of Longs Drugs with the arrival of this year’s Hawaii Island Festival Royal Court followed by great island music by LT Smooth, Bruddah Waltah and Friends, Sudden Rush, and headliner Manao Company.

Winners of some great birthday prizes including five two-night staycations at Hilton Waikoloa Village, courtesy of Hilton Waikoloa Village and Pacific Media Group, will be given away at the end of the concert. Need to be present to win.

Lanihau, which translates into “Heavenly Shade,” is owned by Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. and is managed by CBRE, Inc. Initially opened in 1988, the 88,271-square-foot shopping center is located off Palani Road in Kailua-Kona.
