Fire/rescue crews responded to an 11:28 a.m. alarm Tuesday (Sept 3) to the intersection of Highway 19 and Highway 240 near Honokaa for a crash between a tractor-trailer and car.

Crews found an overturned tractor-trailer with some side cab damage along with a car with significant front end damage at the scene. Three people received minor injuries in the crash.

Highway 19 was closed at times while rescue vehicles worked at the crash scene and as tow truck got the vehicles off the roadway. Traffic was detoured through Honokaa town and the highway reopened in the afternoon.
